Scolopax rosenbergii Schlegel, 1871

Smallish, rather dark woodcock with long bill, breast and most of belly brownish-chin buff, pale area on upper belly separates from all congeners. Sax and seasonal differences and juvenile undescribed. Rosenbergi normally has more contrasted plumage, whiter chin and cheeks, usually white spots above lores, much more white on bellyand more conspicuous brown barring of underparts.
