    Halcyon bougainvillei Rothschild, 1904, Bougainville Island. Genus sometimes merged into Halcyon. Present species geographically separated from congeners; may provide a link between Actenoides and Tanysiptera. Two subspecies recognized. (source: Handbook of the Birds of World)
