Taxonomy:
- Columba Pinon Quoy and Gaimard, 1824, Luwak, Western Papuan Islands. Often placed in a species-group with D. melanochroa and D. mullerii; affinities have also been suggested between these species and the D. latrans superspecies. Inhabits forest, partially cleared areas and monsoon forest,primarily in the lowlands.
Frugivorous.
